Recent market valuations in the US:
Sony: $36 bn
American Express: $64 bn
Time Warner: $85 bn
eBay: $65 bn
Yahoo: $60 bn
and Google: $120 bn !!
Business Week’s recent story forecasts very strongly that Google will move soon into shopping companies with their incredible amount of cash ($8 bn) and supernormal market cap. Thus, companies are currently formed nearly at the same pace than in late 1990s. And VC are herding around them such as in 1997-99.

So if any of the readers thought, the dotcom-times will come never come back, sorry – you are wrong. They are here already now and stakes are higher than ever. Welcome to the era of “2.0 Anything”….
Makes me wonder when will have “DotCom Crash 2.0″
