Markets are emerging

During the last six months digital landscape has mushroomed on products and services for “digital homes” i.e. homes networked with broadband and wireless connections. Forrester Research defines the digital home as “A single networking environment that allows a household to control and share entertainment, communications, and applications. They state that currently ~ 1 % of European (2 million) and 2% of US households (2,1 million) have the digital home equipment at place and using them. In addition, they forecast (A Manifesto For The Digital Home, March 2004) that the market for digital home equipment to be one of key areas for growth in digital consumption.
